Baselworld – accommodation
Baselworld, aka “Uhren- und Schmuckmesse”, is considered the biggest and most important trade fair for watches and jewelry in the world. In 2015, about 150.000 guests and ca. 4.300 journalists flocked to the Basel to see the latest creations of watchmakers and jewelers from around the planet. And the numbers keep growing…
Exhibitors from all countries of the world present the latest trends at the Baselworld. The Baselworld lasts 7 days, during 3 days it is open to the general public. Tickets are available via the Baselworld website: www.baselworld.com.
That being said, finding a room in Basel during the Baselworld is next to impossible if you haven’t booked a long time in advance. Therefore, it is highly recommended to reserve a room at least 6 month before. During the Baselworld, all available hotel rooms are booked. Even accommodations as far as 50 km from Basel find a tenant, as the city of Basel has a limited capacity.
At expo-rooms, you can find private accommodation that is not available elsewhere, as many of our landlords open their private rooms only during the main trade fairs in Basel. It is possible to find a room for less than a hotel would charge you, but prices for private accommodation have also shot up, as nobody possibly could have failed to notice how far prices have shot up during the Baselworld.
Baselworld is located at Messe Basel. If you search for “Basel”, you will not only see the rooms available as green markers in the map. You will also see all event locations in Basel shown as red markers. That way, you can easily see what distance lies between a given accommodation and the Baselworld event location.
As Basel has excellent public transport facilities, any accommodation within the urban area is close enough to Baselworld.
Have a look at our rooms and check back often. Some accommodations are opened relatively late. www.expo-rooms.com
